Reimbursement for Graduate Student Travel

The Department of Psychology can provide a limited amount of funding to support presentation by doctoral and master's students of papers or posters at professional meetings. Students are encouraged to apply for other potential sources of travel support in addition to department funds (e.g., from the Graduate Student Association). Once each academic year, reimbursement of up to $250 in expenses (registration fee, hotel, taxi, meals (no reimbursement for alcohol), rental car, or personal car mileage) is available to graduate students:

(1) who are the actual presenter of a paper or poster (that is, only one student may be reimbursed for each paper or poster);

(2) who are registered and in residence at UB; and

(3) who are in good standing in their area and the department.

Reimbursement for air fare or rail travel is not available from Department of Psychology funds (but may be available from other sources, e.g., faculty research grants).

Students should let Glo Aniebo-Williams (206 Park Hall) know of their intended travel plans. After returning, students must submit original receipts and a photocopy of the meeting program (main title page and page showing the paper or poster title with name of presenter).
