| Undergraduate Teaching and Research Opportunities
Program Description Several courses in the Department of Psychology allow upper level students to get involved in Teaching and Research in Psychology. Credit hours vary. Information about all of these opportunites is available from: Christa Greenberg, Coordinator of Undergraduate Studies From the Undergraduate Catalog... For a letter grade: PSY 499 - Independent Study A program of scholarship to be agreed upon by the student and a faculty sponsor in the department, including procedures for evaluation of student performance. Student will receive a letter grade. TUT. Check faculty interests and contact information to determine who to approach for supervision. For Pass/Fail credit: PSY 496 - Supervised Applied Experience A program of applied work in a community, government, or private agency or organization that is related to the major of psychology. Graded P/F. TUT. PSY 497 - Undergraduate Supervised Teaching Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (UTA) positions are available for certain psychology courses to those students who have completed the course or its equivalent with a grade of "A," have achieved junior status, and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must apply for UTA positions with the appropriate instructor. Credit does not count toward the major. Graded P/F. TUT. PSY 498 - Independent Work A program of work to be agreed upon by the student and a faculty sponsor in the department. Credit does not count toward the major. Graded P/F. TUT.
